I started off sugary, sweet and very saturated, now that I have lost all those qualities I'm left with something which starts to look a little more like me. It's a never-ending process of change.
Stick around?

Mac Lipstick Wednesday #14 Amorous

Week 14, and we're going strong! If you've been with me for a while you've probably gathered that dark reds/ plums/ oxbloods / burgundies and such colours are my absolute favourites, and I pretty much own all of the lipsticks that are the shades I've mentioned above by Mac. So yes, I'm obsessed.. Today I'm going to talk about one of those lipsticks, with of how much of an romantic name Amorous.

Remember when I was praising Mac for accurate shade descriptions in the past couple of  "Mac Lipstick Wednesday" posts? Well, they've ruined it now again. Amorous is described as "Lovestruck Cranberry", now how does the word "Lovestruck" help in describing anything, especially a colour? Mac what are you doing. The other part of the description however, "Cranberry" is very into the point. I'd say it's muted cranberry, it has that sort of slight almost invisible hint of muddiness. Just to recap Muted Cranberry, definitely not Lovestruck Cranberry.

As I've mentioned before Amorous isn't your standard "in your face" kind of berry shade, it's still of course very opaque, but the muteness is certainly visible, which in my opinion makes this a very interesting and unique shade. I think this would work amazing on all skin tones, by far. You do get what you see in the tube, so perhaps if you aren't that keen on very opaque shades you could dab this ever so slightly on your lips, blend with your finger and finish there with a pop of lovely berry colour or add lip gloss for that extra shine.

If seeing the first picture you instantly thought "Berry lipstick and blue eyeshadow, woman what are you doing?!", then be aware that I'm there with you. Hearing such description of make-up on the phone, your face would look as if you've ate lemon. Well the secret is the muted, cool tone of the lipstick. It doesn't fight with the aquatic inspired eye make-up. On my eyes I'm wearing turquoise eyeshadow blended out with a darker cobalt blue, and some bright green dabbed at the centre of the lid. As you can tell I didn't put any eyeliner, because even though my eyes are shouting colour! I wanted to keep this blended look as it is, without defining my eyes further. I kept the base very simple with a hint of peachy coral on the cheeks.
The focus is definitely on my lips.

Amorous is a Satin finish what means 100% colour pay off, semi-glossy finish and quite of a soft formula, which won't dry your lips as much as let's say matte finish would (that's if you suffer with dry lips). Also Satin usually doesn't have any shimmer, or glitter which makes the glossy finish stand out even more making it look very classy and lovely on the lips.

Let me know what you'd pair Amorous with in the comments below!

Too Faced Summer Eyes Palette

If you've seen my Birthday Goodies post (which I hope you did) you may probably recognise this beautiful palette, which contains all the gorgeous colours you need to create an ultimate summer eye-makeup. It has neutral colours as well as some very easy to work with colourful shades, I'm in love. I've been using this palette for almost 2 weeks (ever since I got it for my birthday), and I can't stop!

The amount of looks you can create with this is endless, I have no doubt that this is going to be one of my favourite palettes all your round. Today I'm going to show you step by step look created with this palette as well as some images of other look I've done with this palette pre
viously. Hope you'll enjoy!

I adore all the colours of this palette, I just think Too Faced did a such a good job with putting all of these together. It's just a perfect mixture of colours, shimmers, highlighters, corals, pinks, satins. I'm safe to say that this palette would come handy all year around for pretty much all skin tones, I don't think there's any skin tone that wouldn't be able to pull this palette off!

Palette contains 9 colours: 3 of which are larger, and 6 smaller ones. 3 shades that come in a bigger sizes are your bases or highlighter shades, basically what you would use the most of. The other 6 are your crease browns, and the colourful shades. You get 9 eyeshadows in:
Seashell (pale pink, which blended into the crease creates more of an slightly orange pink),
Plumeria (light pearly fuchsia),
Cocoa Beach (warm toned, satiny brown),
Peach Fuzz (peachy shimmery highlight shade),
Coral Crush (beautiful shimmery coral shade, highly pigmented),
Chocolate Sun (the darkest shade from the palette, fairly dark brown with sparkles to it),
Sunbeam (by far the most shimmery of them all, gold shimmer best used in the inner eye corners),
Mermaid (gorgeous turquoise with this metallic finish),
Toasted Coconut (one of my favourites, it's this muted brown with a slight hint of red, satin finish).
I'm going to give this palette 8 lemon points!

 Fantabulous points:
Beautiful combination of a variety of neutrals, colours and different finishes,
Lovely pigmentation,
Very satisfying and easy to use texture,
Extremely easy to blend,
All around great palette to create endless amount of looks day to night and everything in between,
Amazing to travel with, and have beautiful packaging,
Suitable for a wide range of skin tones,
Definitely very practical palette, allows you to be innovative with your eye-makeup yet still not be too daring.

 Not so amazing points:
I think those two very shimmery shades (Peach Fuzz & Sunbeam) could have a little more pigment to it rather than being just full straight up shimmer,
The price, we do have to do a little complaining about this. This palette is £29, which is quite a lot in comparison to let's say Urban Decay Palette, but I have to admit I like this palette a lot. Love all the colours.

The look I'm going to show you is very effortless, and has this lovely summery feel to it.
I've used shades: Seashell, Coral Crush, Coca Beach, Chocolate Sun & Sunbeam.

Step 1 (start clean):

Prime your eyelids, and apply Seashell all over the mobile part of the lid.

Step 2:
From the middle part of the eyelids outwards apply Coral Crush and blend away with a fluffy brush (e.g. Mac 217),

Step 3:
Start adding Cocoa Beach into the very outer corners of the eyes and blend, then add a little more and blend into the crease. Keep adding the brown until you're happy with the intensity.

Step 4:
Take your angled brush and Chocolate Sun and start pushing this shade into your eyelashes, because I didn't use any eyeliner this step gave my eyes more depth. Then take the Sunbeam shimmery eyeshadow and pack this into your inner corner as well as under the brow bone. Finish off with a lovely coat of black mascara if you like more intense look, or brown for a softer one.

You're done!

I've also decided to include an image of another look I did using this lovely palette, I've used Toasted Coconut and blended it from my eyelid up to the crease and then took this turquoise Mermaid shade and applied this over cream eye pencil for intensity under my lower lashes and blended away.

I think this palette would be great for people who would love to try colours, that are easy to incorporate with neutrals! What do you think? Let me know in the comments below.

Birthday Week, Day 7: Birthday Goodies, Fashion & Books

Day 7, the beautiful grand finale of the Birthday Week series! As I've mentioned in yesterday's post today is going to be the part 2 of the birthday goodies!

Yesterday's post was all about the make-up, but today I've had another lovely guest arriving with belated birthday gifts, which are make-up so I though I'd include those too!

Dior Ultra Shimmering All Over Face Powder (Highlighter), in Rose Diamond
Pure Lip Pencil, in Espresso
Benefit Watts Up (Highlighter)

Fashion! For this category I only have a couple of things from different shops, again those gift cards came in handy since it's Sales season everywhere! (I'll have outfits of the day coming up on all of those pieces).

Mango 3/4 Mint Pants, size 8 (very true to the size)

Mango Oversized Denim Dress, size XS

Primark Denim Dungarees, size 8

Fat Face Espadrilles, size 5

Now onto the last section, and probably my favourite! Books!!! I'm a massive book reader, and although I have my beloved Kindle always around me it's amazing to hold a book in an actual form. I'm a big fan of all kinds of books, so don't be surprised to see some very strange titles here:

The Complete Fairy Tales, by Hans Christian Andersen
The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared, by Jonas Jonasson
The Outcast, by Sadie Jones
Marley & Me, by John Grogan
Tigers in Red Weather, by Liza Klaussmann
Memoirs Of A Geisha, by Arthur Golden
The Light Between The Oceans, by M. L. Stedman
Atonement, by Ian McEwan (this is one of my favourite books of all time, I've read it plenty of times and happened to loose it. Highly recommended)

Here we are at the end of this part 2 of Birthday Goodies! Let me know how did you enjoy the series and if you'd like me to do similar week-long posts?

Birthday Week, Day 6: Birthday Goodies, Make-Up

Here we are at the most exciting part of the Birthday Week! I though I'd be suitable to split this post into two as it would make it easier to follow, because we have quite a lot of things to talk about. Today I'll go through all the make-up bits, and tomorrow I'll share all of the other stuff like fashion & books (a lot of books).

Now just to mention a little exclaimer, by any means this is not in any way me showing off. I have received a couple of emails from you, some my lovely readers saying that you'd love to see "Birthday Haul" as it's either one of your favourite things to watch on YouTube/ read on blogs, or that you have someone's special birthday coming up and you'd love to get some ideas from my gifts. If you aren't interested, please take a look at my other posts that aren't hauls, if you are however we're going to start now! Hope you'll enjoy & I'll have reviews of all of the products coming up very soon!

With the Mac gift card I received I've picked out an eyeshadow quad palette, and 4 eyehshadows in:

Swiss Chocolate (matte),
Woodwinked (veluxe pearl),
Sketch (velvet),
Cranberry (frost).

As well as an eye kohl in Teddy.

Illamasqua had a sale on so I though when would be the best time to use my gift card other than now, I went for:
An iconic Cream Pigment in Hollow,

Blush in Naked Rose (sale item),

Pure Pigment in Beguile (sale item).

Now onto the products that weren't gift cards:
Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray,

YSL Rouge Volupté Lipsticks in the shade

27 Rose Paris & 29 Rose Opera,

Dior Addict Lip Glow,

& Too Faced Summer Eyes eyeshadow palette.

All of those products I've been dying to try out for so long, and I'm super excited to use them for some time so I can get back to you with a full review and tell you about all my thoughts!
Be sure to stick around to see all of the books and other things I got!

River Island SALE Haul

You'd have seen majority of the things I've purchased, which isn't really the way this should be done, but since my name is Cloud and rights of gravity and others don't apply to me we're going to do this the other way round!

Main thing of course is the birthday dress I've purchased.

It was £25 reduced from £70, I got it in size 8. Just to to add more details it comes from Rihanna's Limited Edition for River Island, which for me makes no difference at all. http://www.riverisland.com/women/sale/dresses/Black-Rihanna-tied-t-shirt-dress-633612

Overall it's a super comfortable dress, very unique! I got quite a number of compliments so it must be really eye-catching, in a good way!

Other statement piece were those printed dungarees, made with very light-weight and perfect for summer material. Super comfortable, and quite of an interesting, colourful pieces for those warm months!

£15 reduced from £40, and again in size 8. True to the size, and surprisingly those are amazing for tall girls! I'm almost 6ft and those dungarees for once cover the whole length of my legs!

 http://www.riverisland.com/women/sale/playsuits--jumpsuits/Red-floral-print-smart-dungarees-634315

Moving right along! Cute peach/ coral ballet pumps with those very interesting floral cut-outs. £10 reduced from £22, size 5. http://www.riverisland.com/women/sale/shoes--boots/Pink-laser-cut-ballet-pumps-631525

Next up, shorts! You've most certainly seen those in my previous outfits of the day. I love the olive dark colour, straight cut and corduroy material.

They really do go with surprisingly a lot of tops and colourful shoes! http://www.riverisland.com/women/sale/shorts/Khaki-corduroy-high-waisted-shorts-630166

£10 reduced from £25! In my local River Island those were the last pair and they were in size 10, since I'm a tall kind of gal I got those anyway, cheeky little belt does the job!

Last, but not least a cute little vest with some detail around the neck. Nothing special about this at all, true to the size and lovely material! £7 reduced from £16. http://www.riverisland.com/women/sale/t-shirts--vests--sweats/Beige-embellished-neck-vest-632285

Well.. I have a massive birthday goodies post coming up, so embrace yourself!
Please make me feel better and comment below whether you're as much of a sale junkie as me!

Birthday Week, Day 4: Outfit

Outfit is one of the most crucial parts when it comes to looking your best at special events, especially birthdays when all day is just about you.

I choose colour, bright, bold and loud.. what else suits those points more than yellow?

Since the sales are going strong my dress was very much affordable. I got it from River island for £25 reduced from £70. Ridiculous price I'd never pay for something from River Island, just because it comes from a limited collection that has Rihanna's signature on it. No baby, no. £25, however for such unique design, brilliant fabric and very glamorous shape of the dress is a different story.

The brightness of the dress was a centre part of my whole outfit, and so I couldn't wear anything else, but simple sandals. Did anyone said simple sandals? Did I hear someone say Zara? Oh sure yes, those sandals go with everything!

What are your secrets for those simple yet glamorous special outfits? I personally think that you can't go wrong with luxurious fabrics, unique cuts and chic sandals!

Mac Lipstick Wednesday #13 Diva

As promised we're going to venture out into my mostly used shades of lipsticks ever, the dark plums/ oxbloods/ burgundys. Oh yes, what better shade fits into those requirements more than Diva.. there isn't one. Mac's Diva is truly one of a kind Diva, it's matte, it's loud it's bold, but not bright.

Besides being this ultimate answer for everyone seeking their perfect cherry, Mac describes their creation as: "Intense reddish-burgundy". Well done Mac, you've hit it right, not just with the description, but the swatch seems to be really accurate as well (which believe me isn't common).

Diva has a really special place in my heart, because every time I put it on it just transforms me into this very sophisticated, put together person, even when I'm wearing no other make-up other than the lipstick (and brows of course, leaving my house without filling my eyebrows in simply isn't an option). I love the darkness of this particular shape, it's dark enough to be classified as intense, but bright enough to be able to see the redness of it.

I strongly think Diva would go with every skin tone. Being very pigmented it could be applied with your finger very sheerly for a slight was of dark raspberry, as well as be worn with 100% colour pay off bold lip. I sometimes even use it as a blush, you only need a dot on your cheek to get this very natural pop of colour.

As I said very often I like to leave the house just with my eyebrows filled in and Diva on my lips, but what I also very adore doing is wearing it with red/ coppery bronze colours over my eyelids and pairing it with the burgundy Diva. Even though the red bronze shades and Diva have the same red undertones, they don't fight. They co-operate, and this is the kind of look you can see on the picture. No eyeliner, you don't want to take away the smokiness and effortless touch.

This is a matte finish, and as we all know some people don't like it, as they find the formulation to be very drying on the lips. I personally don't see it, a think a think layer of lip balm or a primer would make all of the drying issues vanish. The lasting power of the matte finishes is just divine, it's not going anywhere for at least 6 hours trust me and even then you'll be left with a stain. Pigmentation is under the roof, it's amazing!

Let me know what colours would you like to see a post about next!
